Music keeps coming back into my art and this one is a slightly more abstract take on a guitarist. Rather than a specific person I wanted to capture the feel of someone lost in their music.
The pose was everything here — that slight lean forward when you are really into a song. I used bold acrylic colours and kept the brushwork loose in places to suggest movement and rhythm. Some areas are quite detailed while others are left more suggestive.
I like the energy in this one. It is the kind of painting that looks different depending on how close you stand to it.
